2. Founded by a California Credentialed music teacher, with years of experience both teaching and performing. She knows music education and she fills encore with other talented teachers!

We know how to engage students and to personalize learning. Whether you would like to perform in competitions, are an actor on the stage or in film, or would like to use music lessons as a form of stress relief or therapy. We know how to tailor the learning experience to you, because our director has been trained to do just that! She is active in the learning process of students, and chooses teachers who are the best at engaging with the learner. Our music teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them. With several teachers for every instrument, we are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your music lesson needs. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn in your music lessons.

3. Formal recitals twice a year, a rock concert in the summer, and many performance opportunities throughout the year.

Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it is to have their child participate in a recital. In May and December many of our students choose to perform in our recitals which are a great way for students to learn to have fun on stage in a supportive environment. We also have many other more informal performance opportunities at retirement homes, coffee shops, and community events, as well as an outdoor rock concert to mark the end of summer break!

4. Training for the Royal School of Music Exams (ABRSM)

Based in London, UK the ABRSM program has more than 600,000 students participate each year in over 93 countries. It is one of the oldest and most respected music exam programs in the world. This program provides a system for students to develop a range of musical skills – in performance, technique, notation, and listening – as well as knowledge, understanding and of course creativity. We currently have many students preparing for the exams in their piano lessons, singing lessons and violin lessons. Our students love receiving their certificate with the seal of the Queen, and the pride and happiness in their accomplishments is contagious!

7. We know how to personalize lessons for many different kinds of learners. We have highly skilled teachers with degrees in music therapy and who are very experienced with students with special needs.

We have learners who are hyperactive, who are on the autism spectrum, who have visual processing issues, who have arthritis, who are English learners...no matter your situation we work with experience, care, and encouragement to help every learner unlock the gift of music.

8. A waiting area stocked with books and activities to engage younger siblings while they wait.

We have toys for our youngest siblings and often a parent playgroup going on in the lobby! There are also many books and coloring activities for older siblings while they wait, and we have caring staff who love to engage with children of all ages.

9. Early morning and lunch time lessons for home schoolers, retirees, college students and working professionals.

We are a 'full service' music school. We offer lessons as early as 9 a.m. and we see many students during regular school hours. If you are a home school parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our early morning and lunch time music lesson spots. Are you a member of a charter school? Just ask, we may be a vendor!

10. A camera system in every room so you can observe lessons on the monitor from the comfort of the lobby.

No need to distract students by trying to sneak a peek through the window you can comfortably watch everything going on from the lobby, without distraction. Watching little ones in a Saturday morning music class really is the best reality T.V.!

11. A treasure box! ...and many other forms of motivation to reinforce good practice habits and to promote learning.

We try to take the pressure off of parents and everyone at encore works to motivate and encourage our students. (Yes, we have stickers and prizes for our adult students too!) We celebrate all successes, no matter how big or small.

12. Month to Month Lessons.

Encore Music does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis. If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose as we only want students who truly want to be here and we will not commit you to a long term contract.

Meet the Director

Rebecca Bio Picture(1) (1).jpg

Encore's founder, Rebecca Carr, is

an accomplished musician with

years of education and teaching

experience in both voice and

piano. She has multiple degrees

in Music Education, piano, voice, a

California teaching credential, and

a passion for making music education accessible to everyone. Her years of building new music programs, teaching in special education, directing musicals, and training students for music exams, musical performances and competitions have taught her how to work through any challenges- be they mental, physical, inspirational or other. She has used that experience to build a team of educators who are effective and inspiring.

"The ability to play an instrument or sing beautifully offers a lifetime of benefits. Music lessons also foster a student’s personal, social, and academic development. If you’ve been told you are tone deaf or uncoordinated, I’m here to inform you that everyone can improve their musical skills. As a musician, teacher, and director I've witnessed thousands of students transform their lives in ways they never imagined possible!"
